Prior to hire, a background check will be completed in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration\u2019s Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and with former employers regarding drug and alcohol testing results.\n\u2022 Some Heavy Truck Driver II positions are required to pass a medical physical, respiratory fit test, and obtain Confined Space Certification within six months from date of hire. Employees will be required to obtain and maintain Confined Space Certification to retain employment.\nYou must meet the following requirements on the date you apply, unless otherwise indicated.\nEXPERIENCE: You must meet ONE of the following options:\n\u2022 Six months of full-time experience operating vehicles which require a California Class A or B Driver License.\n\u2022 Six months of full-time experience operating construction equipment such as loaders, graders, bulldozers, backhoes and other similar heavy equipment.\nNOTE:\n\u2022 City of San Diego employees using Out-of-Class Assignment (OCA) experience and/or on-the-job training to qualify, must submit written documentation signed by their appointing authority or payroll specialist, detailing the work performed, the equipment operated, dates and total number of qualifying OCA and/or training hours.
